LORDSWOOD U14 KYL SIDE

Lordswood FC are pleased to welcome Gary Groves and his Medway Town U13 side, who have joined the club to form a Lordswood side that will compete in the Kent Youth League at U14 level for the 2022/23 season.

During the last season, this group of players won the Maidstone Express Cabs League at u13 level and completed the double by also winning the cup - they managed the double without tasting defeat, crowning them as 'The Invincibles'.

WELCOME TO THE WOODS LADS AND WISHING YOU ALL THE VERY BEST FOR A SUCCESSFUL TIME AT LORDSWOOD!

Here we meet the management team and the players;

Gary Groves - Manager

Gary has been involved in youth football for over 6 years, having started helping to coaching his son's team from mini-soccer all the way through to the current Under 13s at Medway Town FC.

Gary also established an all girls football team, Medway Town PINX. The club quickly grew to 3 successful teams so far, boasting 9 girls that have gone from complete beginners, to representing their respective district teams. Gary joins Lordswood to run our Under 14s for the 22/23 season and begin the pathway to heading up our Youth Development Programme.

Stephen Grimes - Assistant Manager

Stephen first got into coaching around 6 years ago when his son Louie was playing at Larkfield. He was invited to help coach and had 5 successful and fun years there. While at Larkfield, he was invited on to the board to became Head of Youth. He then took a break to watch his son play, however, when Gary invited him to join as a coach at Lordswood he didn’t hesitate. They share the same philosophies and drive to push the boys to the highest level possible. Stephen is looking forward to guiding the young players through what he hopes will be a successful season in the KYL.

Dan Ashby - Coach

Dan completes our fantastic trio of Coaching staff at the U14. A former amateur boxer, Dan really enjoys putting the boys through there paces and working on improving recovery and overall fitness. Dan originally joined the Medway Town coaching team on a temporary basis with Gary whilst he recruited a full time coach. 4 seasons later, Dan is still adamant that he’s in a temporary role but his commitment suggests otherwise.
