POST-LOCKDOWN FRIENDLY TOURNAMENT FIXTURES RELEASED

You may have seen, via our social media channels, information in recent weeks hinting at a friendly tournament heading our way in May.

Chatham Town, Punjab United, Rochester United, Sheppey United and ourselves are teaming up to bring some friendly competition back to the football pitches of Medway and Gravesham and pending confirmation from the Government it will be played in front of fans!

The latest easing of restrictions following the most recent Covid lockdown is sue to come into effect on May 17th and we have worked the tournament to start on May 18th with the intention of welcoming fans back to the Bauvill Stadium, The Steve Cook Stadium at Elite Venue, Rede Court Road and Martyn Grove. (Sheppey United will be playing at the Bauvill Stadium in Chatham due to their own pitch improvement works taking place).

The tournament will operate in the form of a mini-league, with everyone playing each other twice. The sides that finish in the top 2 positions of the league will play off in a final to be held at the Bauvill Stadium on Tuesday 22nd June, with a trophy kindly donated by the Kent Non-League Podcast.

The games will be coming thick and fast, with supporters being spoiled for choice. There will be 4 games being played each week on Tuesday's and Saturday's (and also one Friday).

It has been agreed that admission costs will be standardized across all venues and games. Adults £5.00, Concessions £1.00 and U16s will be FREE!

Obviously a lot depends on the next Government announcement confirming the exit out of lockdown, and teams will announce further details regarding regulations at their grounds and whether there are any ticket restrictions in place. So please keep an eye on the Social Media accounts of the five sides involved (if you don't already).

So, how about those fixtures you ask? Here are the opening week's four games;

Tuesday 18th May (Both 7.45pm KO)

Sheppey United v Punjab United

Rochester United v Chatham Town

Saturday 22nd May

Chatham Town v Punjab United (1.30pm KO) Lordswood v Sheppey United (3.00pm KO)

We will also be bringing back Friday night football the following week when we welcome Rochester United to Martyn Grove on Friday 28th May (7.45pm KO)
